After pickup from your Delhi hotel, Delhi airport, or any other desired central Delhi location, set off by private, air-conditioned vehicle to view the city’s great temples — testament to its melting-pot of religions and cultures.

Learn about Delhi’s religious heritage from your guide and visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, a leading Sikh place of worship. Admire the gold-domed building and holy pond, and see the kitchen, where all can come for food.

Continue to the Lotus Temple, a 1986 lotus-flower-shaped house of Bahai worship, and marvel at its white-marble flowerlike design and central hall, a place of meditation and reflection.

Following lunch at a high quality restaurant, travel to the Swaminarayan Akshardham, a magnificent Hindu sandstone temple built in 2005. Constructed by 11,000 artisans and claimed as the world’s largest Hindu temple complex, this extraordinary building boasts 20,000 carvings of deities and mythical creatures, all centered around a vast statue of Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan, a revered teacher.

Finally, enjoy time for a shopping spree at Delhi’s retail hotspots. Let your guide recommend places famous for textiles, jewelry, carpets, art or handicrafts, and shop for souvenirs (own expense).

2 Gurudwara Bangla Sahib
You'll first visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the most prominent Sikh gurdwara, or Sikh house of worship. The Gurudwara in New Delhi holds a special historical significance apart from the religious aspects. The grounds include the temple, a kitchen, a large pond, a school and an art gallery.

3 Lotus Temple
Next, you'll visit the Lotus Temple or Bahai Temple (closed on Mondays). The Lotus Temple, located in New Delhi, is a Bahai House of Worship completed in 1986. It has a striking central hall where you can meditate and reflect. Set amid beautiful gardens, the temple is at its most exuberant best when the sun dazzles among the lotus petals.

4 Swaminarayan Akshardham
After lunch you'll visit the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple (also closed on Mondays) in New Delhi. This exquisite temple epitomizes 10,000 years of Indian culture in all its breathtaking grandeur, beauty, wisdom and bliss. The Swaminarayan Akshardham complex was built in only five years through the blessings of HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) and the colossal devotional efforts of 11,000 artisans and thousands of BAPS volunteers. This is the Guinness World Record as the World’s Largest Comprehensive Hindu Temple, the complex was inaugurated on 6 November, 2005.
